Mid straw in colour, the nose has a fresh apple and greengage aroma with a hint of crystallised pineapple. The palate has melon and nectarine fruit with some grape skin firmness and tangy acidity.
A well balanced, medium bodied, dry white wine.
This wine may have a harmless crystal deposit..stand upright for approx half an hour before pouring & pour the last glass with care.

WOW!! This is AMAZING! Such a structured, delightful wine. Easily drinkable by itself, but very much for us a food wine, We enjoyed this with smoked salmon pate, the combination was sublime. Such a vibrant but balanced wine given its age. Our only dilemma is how to keep it for a few years to explore how it will unfold without the temptation to drink it!

Pinot Blanc, tried one?
Grey Sands Vineyard, Tasmanian, Pinot Blanc 2018. Really very nice this. Grey Sands are a class act.
Nose – Beautifully perfumed, white stonefruit meets pineapple and green pear, crisp yet round with a really subtle spice undertone. Very nice.
Palate – Medium bodied, lovely texture, silky, generous fruit, white peach, green pear, dried pineapple, crisp acidity, green apple vibes, great length, some spice, almost finishing minerally and slightly saline.
There’s a lot to like about this wine, the quality is clear, so if you fancy an Aussie Pinot Blanc some day, this would be my recommendation.

Grey Sands Vineyard 2018 #tasmanianwine #pinotblanc Cool climate, nice & tight on the bouquet & palate with a splash of nectarine-gentle & elegant with a dry, refreshing finish. VERY CLASSY!!

97 Points – Stuart McCloskey “Unfurling is the perfect word to describe how the bouquet develops with each passing sniff. A little aeration and served at the correct temperature (fridge cold is too cold) is the key to unravelling the complex bouquet. More orchard fruits (perhaps a little oxidised apple). Pear both fresh and in ‘drop’ form exudes with a deep core of crushed minerals – slate and chalk dominate. The style and flavours are crystal clear, mouth-wateringly juicy and super fresh. More orchard fruits develop together with white flowers and a spine of chalk. On the whole, this is an elegant and beautifully aromatic wine which demands time in the cellar. The palate is pure and skilfully orchestrated. A great wine in development. My score reflects the need for more bottle age – another point is sure to come in 3-5 years. Drinking now to 2030+. Served using Zalto Bordeaux glassware.”

The nose is fresh, clean, slightly floral and a little citrus like. The palate is the same but includes flavours of juicy peaches and pears, there’s texture and elegance, zippy acidity and finishing dry with medium persistence. This has a lovely mouthfeel to it and seemed to open up more the longer it sat in the glass. It was an easy decision to indulge in a follow up glass, just to check my notes of course.

Excellent wine. Freshly fruited, apples, pear, melon, all the usual suspects, with a nice lemon peel overlay to it. This would get demolished on a hot summers day.

I really respect the wines of Grey Sands, they truly speak of maker and place and are held back before release to have the most impact and understanding from consumers.
A light yellow in the glass, the nose has fresh quince, bergamot and a touch of custard apple, which is anything but the straight up and down citrus characters that Pinot Blanc can sometimes be known.
The palate has good weight and an underlying richness to it that works well with expressive stone fruits and beautifully timed and textured acidity that tapers the wines stone fruit influences mid stride. A faint textural pull to finish, and a continuation of the citrus and bergamot on the nose.
