Come and join us for a wine tasting of some of the most diverse grape varieties you will find in Tasmania – all in a beautiful, unique setting. Most Tasmanian vineyards grow 2 varieties of grapes…Pinot Noir & Chardonnay. Our current line up of 12 wines for tasting (4 whites, a Rose & 7 reds) are made from 17 different varieties. The 18th variety on our property bore for the first time last year, so it is in the 2025 The Mattock. We have another 6 varieties, that are common to both Portugal & Spain, that have been in the ground for 3 winters, which will hopefully start bearing in another 3 years.

Bob has been gardening since he was 3, so he gets bored with the ‘ordinary stuff’. If you’re interested in unusual plants, Grey Sands garden (aka our ‘cellar door’) is a must see.

Bob enjoys nothing more than hunting down unusual plants (be they edible or decorative) and trees – and, as with our vineyard, he likes to experiment and push the boundaries to see just what he can grow here.

Our garden has been planted to have something of interest happening all through the year. If you’ve already been, come at a different time of year to see completely different things.
